October in Denver
Events Guide 2026
The weather turns, the aspens go, and Denver spends October doing Halloween properly. Here is what we are recommending this month, from the zoo after dark to a full month of programming at Boettcher. Dates checked against the venues.
Boo at the Zoo
Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance
October 2 to 3, 9 to 11, 16 to 18, 23 to 25, and 30
Trick-or-treating around the zoo after dark, 4:30 to 9:00 p.m. Costumes encouraged, lanterns lit, and animals on view in the cool evening air. It sells out most weekends, so book the date you want early.
Ghosts in the Gardens
Denver Botanic Gardens, York Street
October 9 to 10, 20, and 28 to 31
The Gardens after dark, lantern-lit and quietly unsettling. A walking route through the grounds with performances along the way. Gentler than a haunted house and far better looking.
Colorado Symphony Orchestra
Boettcher Concert Hall
Throughout October
A full month of programming at Boettcher, from film scores with live orchestra to the classical season proper. Worth checking the calendar even if you have never been.
Denver Halloween, all of it
Across the metro
All month
Pumpkin patches, haunted houses, trunk-or-treats and street parties, collected in one verified calendar. If you are planning a weekend rather than a single night, start here.
Meow Wolf Convergence Station
1338 1st Street, Denver
Open year round
Four floors of immersive art built as a multiversal transit station. Easily a few hours, and a good indoor option when the weather turns.
RiNo Street Art Stroll
River North Art District
Runs through autumn
A guided walk through one of the densest concentrations of street art in the country, with the stories behind the murals. October light in RiNo is the best it gets all year.
